Annual Summer BBQ July 30th

  Tuesday July 30th 2019 there will be no lunch meeting.

Instead, we’ll be having our annual Summer BBQ at 5PM, at Al Moody Park, 2225 NE Daggett Lane, Bend. Al Moody Park includes amenities such as a “tree house” play garden, a train engine for pre-school age children, half-court basketball, picnic tables and shelter, paved walkways, a wood fiber fitness trail, and a turf play area.

Food will be provided for everyone that RSVPs for this event. Please BYO beverages as well as extra seating, lawn games and blankets!

End of Year Dinner for Juanfe

Next week, we’re having an end-of-the-year dinner party on Tuesday June 4 both to honor Juanfe for being such an awesome exchange student – and – to recognize and thank the host families who have played such an instrumental role in his time here in Bend and the US.

This is a benefit dinner to raise money for Juanfe’s year-end trip later in June.

It will be held at the Deschutes Brewery Mountain Room (3rd floor of their Simpson Avenue facilities) and we anticipate starting around 6:00. Food will be catered by Hola. His parents will be there.

If you haven’t signed up for the dinner yet, there might still be room – contact Bruce Abernethy (abernethy9@aol.com) to see if there’s space left.

NOTE: there will be NO LUNCH MEETING at the Riverhouse this week.

2019 Great Duck Race Kickoff


We have a date for our media kickoff of the Rotary Duck Race this year and hoping you can be there. It is going to be at Robberson Ford on Thursday, June 27th at 11am. We will have the Rotary clubs, sponsors and race proceed recipients from 2019 and selected nonprofit recipients for 2019 in attendance.

2019 Rotary Club of Bend Golf Classic

Register now for the 2019 Rotary Club of Bend Golf Classic to be held Wednesday, May 22nd at the Bend Golf Club. Tee time is 2:00 PM immediately following the regular Rotary Club of Bend lunch meeting at Bend Golf Club. The $95 fee covers 18 holes of golf, cart, prizes and reception.

Lunch Program: Invention Convention 2019

  On Tuesday, February 19th 2019, our lunch program is our annual Invention Convention.

Every year, Rotary Club of Greater Bend hosts the “Invention Convention” where students from Miller Elementary School are encouraged to think up (and present to the club and their family members) their inventions to “save the world” or just make life a little easier for all of us. It’s absolutely amazing what ideas these young entrepreneurs come up with and this event always leaves us feeling more positive about the future!

Club members help with judging which takes a good half day since virtually every student at the school takes part in this fun event!
