Tree of Joy Returns to Help Central Oregon Children This Holiday Season
For more than three decades, the three Rotary clubs of Bend have partnered with The Old Mill District and The Salvation Army of Bend to ensure local children experience the joy of the holiday season. The annual Tree of Joy program provides gifts to children and families throughout Central Oregon. In 2024, more than 400 children received holiday gifts through the program. In 2025, that number grew to more than 600, reflecting the community’s continued commitment to supporting families in need.
Community members can participate by visiting Santa Land at The Old Mill District, selecting one or more gift tags from the Tree of Joy, and purchasing gifts for a local child. Those who prefer to participate online can sign up through the program’s website. This year, Rotary volunteers will also help families visiting Santa Land enroll their children in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that provides free books to young children and promotes early childhood literacy.
