On Tuesday, September 24th 2019, our lunch speaker will be Senator Tim Knopp – District 27 – Bend. Knopp served three terms in the Oregon House of Representatives. He was first elected in 1998 and left the House in 2005. Knopp was majority leader in 2003. Knopp was first elected to the Oregon Senate in 2012. At the time, he was executive vice president of the Central Oregon Home Builders and a past president of the Deschutes County Republican Central Committee. In 2014, Knopp was named deputy caucus leader of the Oregon Senate Republicans.

Tim Knopp is a native Oregonian who has lived in Central Oregon for nearly 39 years. He and his wife, Melissa, have been married over 30 years and have 4 children.

His background includes nearly 20 years as a small business owner and community service as a former little league coach and board member of the Bend Chamber of Commerce as well as serving as a current board member of affordable housing non-profit, First Story.

On Tuesday, August 27th 2019, our lunch speaker will be Rick Olson, District Governor for District 5100. Note: at the meeting, the club will provide 100 Paul Harris matching points for donations to the RI Foundation of $100 or more.

Rick is a third-generation Oregonian from the Eugene area. Raised in a family of Rotarians that included his grandfather, father, sisters and now his daughter, Rotary has been part of the Olson family tradition of “Service Above Self” and giving back to the local communities we reside in. Rick is a graduate of the Engineering program at OSU.

Rick has been part of their family’s concrete products business, founded by his grandfather in 1922, for over 40 years. The value of the relationships with customers and specifiers has always mimicked the Rotary 4-way test. In 1991, Rick created R.K.O. and Associates, to provide oversight and leadership for a North American trade association for roofing product manufacturers. This leadership experience on a national level has helped Rick connect with a greater network of strong business leaders and organizations that share the same values of high ethics.
