Oregon Remembers Veterans - Volunteer day (Link provided to sign up) October 24th at Oregon Veterans Ranch 65920 SW 61st Street Bend
Event Chair: Alan Glickman
DETAILS:
On Saturday, October 24, we’ll be hosting Oregon Remembers at Central Oregon Veterans Ranch for the first time. The event brings the Oregon Remembrance Wall to the Ranch, honoring Oregonians who lost their lives in service to our country.
For us, the meaning behind the day is simple: we honor those we have lost by showing up for those who are still here.
And that is where I’m hoping the Rotary Club of Greater Bend might help us.
Making this day possible will take a lot of people. We need approximately 48 volunteers helping with everything from welcoming guests and parking to golf-cart shuttles, food service, merchandise, setup, cleanup, and general event support. That is a significant lift for an organization our size, and candidly, we cannot make this day what it should be without our community stepping forward.
Given your club’s emphasis on hands-on community service, I thought this might be a particularly good fit. Would the Rotary Club of Greater Bend consider putting together a team and taking one of our volunteer shifts?

We don’t simply need names to fill volunteer slots; we need community partners willing to stand alongside us and help make this day possible. Even a small Rotary team taking one shift would make a meaningful difference.
A 3-DAY EXPERIENCE OF REMEMBRANCE, REFLECTION & COMMUNITY During this three-day event, veterans, military families, students, community members, and visitors will gather to honor Oregon's service members killed in action, build meaningful connections, explore veteran resources, and celebrate
the enduring legacy of military service.
Event Highlights • Oregon Memorial Traveling Wall and S.S. Redside submarine replica on display
throughout the weekend
• Thursday 10/22 noon - 3pm - veteran-only first look and viewing
• Friday 10/23 - scheduled student group visits
• Saturday 10/24 10am-3pm - Veteran and military resource fair and networking
- Noon - Community ceremony of remembrance
Oregon Remembers is built on a simple belief:
We honor the legacy of those we lost by investing in those who came home. While the Oregon Memorial Traveling Wall serves as the heart of the weekend, the event also reflects the year-round mission of Central Oregon Veterans Ranch: creating
purpose, community, and connection for veterans and their families. By bringing together remembrance, education, and support in one place, Oregon Remembers helps ensure that the sacrifices of the past continue to strengthen the
veteran community of today and inspire future generations.
