Holiday Tree of Joy

Each year, our club, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, hosts the Tree of Joy in the Old Mill District.

In 2024 we were thrilled to serve 391 children, a remarkable achievement, especially considering we completed this project with only 75% of our usual timeline.

In addition to the toys, we raised an impressive $3,684 in cash donations. These funds will help ensure every tag is fulfilled and provide much-needed holiday meals for families in need.

The Salvation Army selects appropriate families and children for this project, gathers the information on the kiddos’ wish lists, clothing sizes, etc., and gets that to our Rotary club. We put a number of those children on tags on the physical tree in the Old Mill, and put the rest up online on this website, which we then promote to the people of Bend via Facebook, TV, Next Door, etc.

People choose a child’s name and gift requests from the tree, purchase those gifts, and bring them back to the Tree of Joy. The Salvation Army then distributes the gifts to the parents of those children.
