Our club participates in two Youth Exchange programs.

Each year, we send abroad a local high school student for a school year in another country and another language, and we host a student from another country here as well. The students go to school in the other language, and typically stay with 3 different host families during that year.
As well, we have a short term exchange program with our sister city: Belluno, Italy. Here, we send several students to Belluno for a few weeks in the summer to stay with one family, and then that family’s teenager returns to Bend to stay with a local family as well.
The February 2025 Bend Winter Weekend was a resounding success for our District 5110 Inbound Rotary Youth Exchange students! Of the 19 students who came to Bend, 11 had never gone skiing and an even higher number had never gone ice skating! They had a fabulous time trying new activities (the youth exchange mantra is after all “try to say yes as often as you can!”) and bonding with close friends. They surely slept soundly on their way home our recent celebrations with the youth exchange students.
