On Tuesday, December 12th, 2017, Ken Wilhelm will be talking about how the landscape around charitable giving is shifting, no more so than at the United Way. As the workplace has changed, so has workplace giving. Ken will discuss how United Way is adapting, and its increased focus on adverse childhood experiences, trauma and resilience.

On Tuesday, Dec. 5th 2017, Admiral Bill Owens, Former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will be speaking to us about security threats around the world.

On Tuesday, Nov. 28th 2017, we will be at The Riverhouse Convention Center for our Student Recognition event. One outstanding student from each high school in the Bend LaPine School District will be recognized.

On Tuesday, Nov. 21st 2017, Joe Sluka, CEO of St. Charles Health System, will be talking about how St. Charles is adapting to the changing healthcare landscape.

On Tuesday, Nov. 14th 2017, Kyle Frick will be speaking to us about our club’s own foundation.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7th 2017, Stephanie Alvstad and Peggy Carey will be speaking to us about the vocational training program at J Bar J Youth Services.

The Deschutes Public Library has gone digital. Sure, there are still shelves full of books. But today’s patrons are just as likely to be using a library computer to search for a job, or to download their borrowed books to their Amazon Kindle or their iPhone.
