As public information officer for St. Charles Health System, Lisa Goodman focuses on media relations and government affairs. In her role, she has served on the Bend Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative and Advocacy Committees, the City Club of Central Oregon’s Programming Committee and is currently a vice chair of the Bend Economic Development Advisory Board (BEDAB.) She also serves as St. Charles’ representative in the Central Oregon Emergency Information Network (COEIN), a group of 25 local, state and federal agencies that collaborate to provide timely, accurate information in emergencies.

Prior to joining St. Charles in 2010, Lisa was an award-winning health care journalist whose work appeared in newspapers around the west including The Salt Lake Tribune. In her 15 years as a newswoman, Lisa was a Jack R. Howard Science Institute for Journalists Fellow at the California Institute of Technology and a California Endowment for Health Journalism National Fellow at the University of Southern California.

Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Dr. Michael Johnson has served as the senior data scientist with the Quality Management Team at St. Charles Health since May 2016. Mike advises the senior leadership, conducts data analysis, computer simulations and predictive modeling and supervises a team of eight analysts to help St. Charles undergo aggressive organizational transformation and achieve its vision of creating America’s healthiest community together.

Mike has taught mathematics and statistics courses at Central Oregon Community College and at Oregon State University – Cascades. He launched his own analytical company, Crafted Analytics, in June 2015. Most of his consulting work is in the area of predictive modeling, data analysis, survey administration and assessment, and specializes in applying the results of modeling, simulation and analysis to improve current systems and processes. Clients include institutions of higher education, non-profits and health care-related organizations.

Prior to these recent endeavors, Mike was the Director of Institutional Research at Dickinson College for eight years and departed in June 2015. While performing the duties of the director, Mike also taught courses in statistics at Dickinson and at nearby Harrisburg Community College. Before Dickinson, he spent over 23 years as an Army officer; the last three as chief of the institutional research and analysis branch at the U.S. Military Academy. While on active duty, Mike also taught calculus, probability and statistics and math modeling for seven years at the Academy. He earned a B.S in mathematics from Central Washington University, an M.S. in operations research from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from the University of Central Florida.
