Summit Interact 2016-17 Activities

Bingo at Regency Assisted Living

Every Saturday Interact members host bingo for about an hour for the residents at Regency Assisted Living. They pass out cards, call numbers and help the residents, also giving prizes to winners.

Each year Interact students pass out dictionaries provided by Rotary to 3 rd graders in the Bend LaPine School District. They visit classrooms and teach a short lesson about Rotary and how to use the dictionaries. Third graders send homemade thank you letter back to the Greater Bend Rotary Club.

Grin and Bear It Run Interact students volunteered at the 5K run this year as course marshals and at the registration table. The run benefited Healthy Beginnings.

This winter, many members of the Summit Interact club sold tickets and put on wristbands for hundreds of people for WinterFest at the Old Mill. This year, the proceeds went to Big Brothers Big Sisters in Bend.

St. Patrick’s Day Gifts

The Interact club put together gift bags during their club meeting and delivered them to residents during dinnertime at Regency Assisted Living.

Pints For Polio

Interact members volunteered at Summit Saloon registering participants on the Pints for polio pub walk. Rotary club uses money from this event to purchase polio vaccinations and is working to eradicate polio round the world with them.

Rotary Charter Night

This year when the Greater Bend Rotary Club celebrated their anniversary, Interact students attended the dinner, gave small speeches and drew winners for the wine raffle.

Regency Car Show

Interact students helped out at the Regency Assisted Living benefit car how over the summer in the parking lot at the residence.

Pillow Case Drive

Right now the Interact Club is collecting pillowcases for Little Dresses for Africa. They will have a sewing party in which they make the pillowcases into dresses for girls in need in Africa to wear. Little Dresses for Africa delivers them to those who need them.

Invention Convention

A few Interact students attended the Rotary meeting last week for Invention Convention. After elementary students submit inventions and are judged by Rotary members, the winners come to this meeting. Interact handed out medals and certificates to the winners.
